SeaQuest Interactive Aquariums partners with community based organizations in the areas we operate to ensure that we do our part to support local needs. SeaQuest Cares supports a variety of causes throughout the year.
We partner with organizations that uphold our commitment to support children’s programs. Several of the programs we hold dear include those that provide better homes for children through foster parent programs, as well as efforts that benefit children who are ill or who have disabilities.
We partner with school districts and Educational efforts like backpack drives, school night out fundraisers and with discounts on field trips for Title 1 schools.
In the fall of 2017, SeaQuest partnered with United Blood Services of Las Vegas to host a blood drive. The people of Las Vegas were eager to help in this important effort and showed their support by donating in record numbers to help supply local hospitals.
Those who donated blood had no idea how soon their contributions would be needed. The horrible shooting incident on the Las Vegas strip occurred one week after the SeaQuest blood drive. According to United Blood Services, all of the blood donations collected during our event went immediately to support those who were injured in the incident.
We believe that all children deserve a quality education, however we understand that not every family can afford to provide their children with new school supplies every year. To help support families needing assistance, SeaQuest partnered with KLUC 98.5 FM Las Vegas in their Backpacks 4 Class Acts donation drive.
Clark County School District is the 5th largest school district in the nation and there are plenty of children in need. We invited members of our community to gather new backpacks and fill them with as many school supplies as possible. For every donation, SeaQuest offered an aquarium day pass to the person donating as well as the child receiving a backpack. Over 600 donations were collected in a single backpack drive! All donations went to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada and the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.
Foster Children Programs
Many children in foster care don’t get the opportunity to enjoy the typical childhood experiences that other children have. SeaQuest is proud to partner with Upbring in their mission to help Texans break the cycle of child abuse and raise the standards for how Texas children are treated.
Together, SeaQuest and Upbring help foster families treat the children in their care to a fun, educational experience that they will remember for years to come. Foster children are always welcome, free of charge, to any SeaQuest location year-round.
Accessibility for All
We believe in making our aquarium accessible to everyone. People with disabilities face many challenges, but their disabilities shouldn’t prevent them from educational activities. SeaQuest partners with RISE Services of Utah, the largest provider of services for people with disabilities in the state. RISE Services is a nonprofit that provides support to children and adults with developmental disabilities or mental health needs.
Disabled people receiving support from RISE Services visit the aquarium regularly, free of charge. We’re grateful for the opportunity we have to give people with disabilities the opportunity to interact with amazing animals and enjoy our aquarium.
