Field trips are an important part of the school year learning and teachers of elementary through high school students are always looking for new ideas. Kids all over the area in Dallas and Ft. Worth are gearing up for the school bell, but it’s never too early to get those field trips booked for the fall and winter semesters. A Trip to the Gardens: Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
Located in East Dallas, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is a 66-acre botanical garden just minutes from downtown. There are 11 lush display gardens that offer seasonal and colorful foliage all year long. The gardens are home to the Dallas Blooms Spring, the southwest’s largest outdoor floral festival. The gardens are right on the shore of White Rock Lake and the arboretum is the perfect field trip destination for students and teachers!
Back On the Farm: Yesterland Farm
Students will experience some old-fashioned fun on the farm at the Yesterland Farm! Complete with vintage roller coasters, train rides, farm animals, pony rides, a petting zoo, and LIVE duck and pig races! During the fall season, they offer a corn maze and pumpkin patch along with haunted hayrides. This is a great location to host groups for field trips, and they offer great group discounts.
Giddy Up! Texas Horse Park
The Texas Horse Park is one of the most unique things to do in Dallas-Fort Worth for students. They offer a number of lessons for kids ages 7 and up as well as trail rides for groups with students ages 12 and up. Spending time with horses can be a wonderful experience for anyone! Visitors learn about the privately operated ranch and equestrian center where the River Ranch horses and ponies live, basic animal care, horse parts, tack parts, and fun horse trivia.

Take Flight: Frontiers of Flight Museum
Formerly located at Dallas Love Field, the Frontiers of Flight Museum memorializes the pioneers of flight, from the 1920s and 30s, through World War II and up to the jet and rocket age of today. The museum features an extensive collection of aviation history artifacts and vehicles and focuses on the history of aviation and space exploration with an emphasis on the role of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Exhibits include the Apollo 7 command module, a World War I Sopwith Pup biplane, artifacts from the German airship Hindenburg and other airships, and over 200 World War II aircraft models.
