Learning on the River: Cruise on the Capitol Hornblower

This historical cruise trip is a great way to get students out of the classroom and into the fresh air for some fun learning!  The Capitol Hornblower offers school field trip events right on the water! Students of any age will love this boat ride on the Sacramento River with the city skyline as their backdrop. Nature Calls: Effie Yeaw Nature Center

There’s no better way to stimulate kids’ attention to nature than being out in nature! Effie Yeaw Nature Center is a great field trip idea for students in the Sacramento area. An award-winning wildlife educational center that features 100 acres of oak trees on the American River Parkway, the Effie Yeaw Nature Center offers opportunities for kids to learn about the region’s history and natural environment with an emphasis on conservation. The American River watershed encompasses over 1,875 square miles of land. Three forks of the American River flow out of the mountains into the great Central Valley and eventually out to the Pacific Ocean. Through the education center, guided field trip tours take students on an exploration of the American River watershed while they can learn about water conservation and geography. Students of all ages can participate, as each guided tour is designed to teach skills to students at every grade level.

Take Flight: Aerospace Museum of California
